Synthetic maps of groundwater vulnerability

These are maps of particular areas in relation to the vulnerability of groundwater. The value of the coefficient of vulnerability is based on the category of the soil and rock environment vulnerability to nutrients. The categories of vulnerability are characterised numerically and with the use of colours, while each category of groundwater vulnerability is assigned a characteristic colour.

The methodology of preparation of synthetic maps of groundwater vulnerability is protected by a patent (registration number 20352 dated 15. 12. 2009). The owners of the patent are GEOtest Brno, a.s. (now GEOtest, a.s.) and VÚMOP v.v.i. Praha (The Research Institute for Soil and Water Conservation, a public research institution).
