GEOtest, a.s. is a traditional Czech company having been well-established on the market for more than 50 years, which – besides the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic – successfully implements its products in more than 35 countries all over the world.
GEOtest, a.s. provides a wide range of services – from consulting to supplier services – in environmental fields, engineering geology, geotechnics, geophysics and hydrogeology.
It also offers services of the Hydrochemical Laboratories and the Laboratories of Soil Mechanics (both accredited by the Czech Accreditation Institute, CAI). In recent years it has successfully been developing its activities also in the areas of water management and technical supervisions.

Foundation of the national enterprise GEOtest
Geotest, n.p. was founded by the disintegration of the statewide operating national enterprise Inženýrskogeologický a hydrogeologický průzkum Žilina (Engineering and Hydrogeological Survey Žilina). The activities of the newly established enterprise included hydrogeological, engineering-geological and geotechnical surveys, especially in the territory of Moravia. -
Complex organisational structure
GEOtest, n.p. was a complex enterprise with approximately 1,200 employees. Organisationally, it was divided into 5 separate plants (a drilling plant, a plant of technical activities, a plant of special foundation engineering, an engineering plant and a geological service at the level of a plant). Because of its wide scope, it was capable of ensuring any contract in whole, including logistics, in the above-mentioned fields, not only in the then Czechoslovakia, but also abroad. -
Extensive foreign activities
In the 1970s and 1980s, GEOtest then operated in many countries (e.g. in Cuba, Algeria, Peru, Mongolia, Somalia, Iran and Bangladesh). This particularly concerned large projects in engineering geology, geotechnics and in special foundation engineering.

In 1990, individual plants were delimited and the whole then Geological Service remained as GEOtest s.p.

Transformation into a joint-stock company
In 1992, the state-owned enterprise was transformed into a joint-stock company, which is the current successor of the Company’s traditions.

In 2010, a change in the Company’s name to GEOtest, a.s. took place.

Today’s GEOtest, a.s. is a complex company, which provides a wide range of services (from consulting to supplier services) in ecological fields, engineering geology, geotechnics and hydrogeology. At the present time, it has about 150 employees and technical facilities in the form of the accredited Hydrochemical Laboratories and the accredited Laboratories of Soil Mechanics. -
Branch offices in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia
In addition to the branch offices in Prague, Ostrava and České Budějovice, a branch office (an organisational body) also began operating in Bratislava in 2017. -

All services are provided by GEOtest, a.s. at a high professional level and adjusted to the needs of its customers to the maximum possible extent.
The Integrated Management System
The Company GEOtest, a.s. has implemented and maintains an Integrated Management System, which consists of a quality management system (ISO 9001:2015), an environmental management system (ISO 14001:2015) and an occupational health and safety management system (ISO 45001:2018).
The Hydrochemical Laboratories and the Laboratories of Soil Mechanics are accredited by the CAI according to ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025. Complete sampling work is also accredited.
