The goal of the project is to ensure a stable financial income of farmers from the sales of products with a higher market price and access of farmers to nutrient-rich food, to increase erosion resistance, and to provide longer-lasting access to industrial water in selected kebeles of Kembata Tembaro Zone, SNNPR.

These goals can be achieved particularly by implementing sustainable agricultural practices (Climate Smart Agriculture), diversifying crops and processing products with an added market value. Thus, the farmers will not be dependent on one source of income and will become more resistant to the impacts of climate change and the fluctuating market prices. This approach will also strengthen the resistance and adaptive abilities of the farmers.

In addition, the project focuses on ensuring access to nutrient-rich food, particularly for breastfeeding mothers and children under the age of 5, and on increasing the capacity of officials of local self-government/auxiliary workers providing consultancy at selected sites.
