On 16 February 2021, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila conducted an international webinar through the communications platform Zoom on the topic:
“The Philippine Diary Sector and the Way Forward”, to which experts from GEOtest were invited as the main panelists.
The aim of the webinar was to provide a platform to discuss the situation of the Philippine dairy sector, its further development and possible innovative procedures, which can contribute to its development and to the sharing of knowledge and strategies employed in the Philippines and in the Czech Republic. The experts from GEOtest were invited on the basis of their successful activity in this sector in the Philippines in the preceding years, specifically since 2018.
In addition to the experts from GEOtest and other allied Czech companies and universities, the panelists also included the representatives of Philippine government offices, local universities, dairy farms, cooperatives and private companies.
Live streaming of the webinar was watched by more than 100 participants through the platform Zoom itself and other several hundred people on Facebook
(https://www.facebook.com/events/435955287524156). During the first 12 hours of broadcasting, more than 1,400 listeners were watching the recording from the panel on the Facebook of the Embassy. Also the Philippine media, including the leading Philippine daily The Manila Times and the magazine Philippines Graphic, gave attention to the organisation of the seminar.
Significant recognition was received by the participation of our experts in the webinar for previous continuous work in the country in this sector, in which GEOtest has been operating since 2018 through the Czech Development Cooperation projects, particularly the Aid for Trade program under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Within this programme, GEOtest here successfully implemented already 3 successive projects, in which, among others, an expert analysis was conducted of the whole value chain of the dairy sector, on the basis of which the Action Strategy for the Development of the Dairy Sector in the Philippines has been created for the years 2019 – 2024. This strategy was also acknowledged by the Philippine government as a recommended document for the State Dairy Agency and as a strategic document of further development. Thanks to this document and other activities performed in the past years and to the participation in this webinar, GEOtest is thus directly and actively taking part in the development of the dairy sector in the country with a population of more 100 million.
