In all, 324 boreholes were constructed in 4 lines at the site in 2020. In April 2020, the application of whey began to be applied, taking place at two-month intervals. It is a remediation technology which is very environmentally friendly – no wastes are generated when using it and groundwater is purified only by means of microorganisms naturally occurring in groundwater.

The results of analyses of groundwater sampled within regular monitoring show that suitable conditions, under which contamination will be eliminated using bacteria naturally occurring in groundwater, were successfully created already in the application boreholes. The concentrations already begin to be decreased also in some of the monitoring boreholes.
