However, it has not yet created a full, effective and binding framework to form and operate the national infrastructure of spatial information and to provide access to reliable and current spatial data for public institutions and the private sector. An important aspect is particularly emphasis on mutual communication between the interested institutions from public administration, then on the improvement of spatial data administration and the harmonisation of this process with the EU standards \u2013 chiefly through the implementation of the INSPIRE Directive. The objective of the project is to enable the Moldovan public institutions to use freely available GIS technologies and spatial data actively and effectively in the implementation of regional strategies.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1590485289541{margin-top: -45px !important;padding-right: 20px !important;padding-left: 20px !important;}”]Within the project, analysis of capacities was implemented, as well as that of the potential of the development of interested subjects, existing (legislative) documents, technical instruments and outputs of implemented projects, used to day, and also analysis of available data, preparation of binding methodologies for data processing and storage at national and regional levels, qualitative and quantitative research into the interest of investors. IT equipment was acquired for work with data for 4 involved public institutions, educational curricula and training materials were created for public institutions and expert training courses took place at basic and superstructure levels for public institutions. The project also comprised an information campaign and workshops to increase awareness in the professional public and other interested subjects on the practical use of spatial data in regional development, a pilot collection of data at national and regional levels, their control and transformation into a uniform coordinate system and the creation of a metadata catalogue. Within the project, expert workshops were organised on site, as well as study trips to the CR for public institutions, and legislative amendments\/proposals, particularly implementing regulations, were also discussed and approved.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]
