GEOtest, a.s. together with Institute of ecology and game management, ltd. organized a study tour for the 10-member Kazakh delegation between 31 January – 7 February 2016. The study tour was realized within the framework of a project funded by UNDP (United Nations Development Programme): „Sharing good practices of Czech expertise in wildlife management through development of hunting in Kazakhstan“. The overall objective of the project is transfer of Czech know-how in the field of sustainable wildlife and hunting management with a focus on improvement and development of hunting in Kazakhstan.

The Kazakh delegation visited several public institutions during the study tour, e.g. Ministry of Environment and Ministry of agriculture of the Czech Republic, where was familiarized with Czech legal framework in the field of sustainable hunting management. A part of the study tour were also visits of the private game-parks where the participants were informed about breeding of concrete game species, veterinary services, rescue programmes for endangered species, etc.

The consortium of GEOtest and Czech Institute of ecology and game management has been implementing the project since November 2015 when Czech experts took part in first mission to Kazakhstan. The expected completion of the project is planned in March 2016, after second mission to Kazakhstan where the main project output will be presented – an expert study about hunting management in Czech Republic, its potential application in Kazakh conditions and suggestions and recommendations how to improve current hunting management system in Kazakhstan.
