Rehabilitation of Small Water Sources in the Area of the Ampara District in Sri Lanka
Due to the natural disaster "Tsunami 9.3", water sources were destroyed in the area of the Ampara District in Sri Lanka. The goal of the project, implemented in cooperation with the National Water Supply & Drainage Board (a state-owned organisation responsible for supplying the population with drinking water) and the company Aqua Technologies, Ltd. (a specialist company operating in the area of drinking water treatment, wastewater purification, etc.), is the restoration of small drinking-water sources (reconstruction, cleaning, disinfection, etc.) and the installation of 20 drinking-water units, the manufacturer of which is the company IWET a.s. The implementation of this project will restore the drinking-water supply for the population in the required quality and amount, especially at school and hospital premises located in the disaster area.
